Fred Long Labor Day Tribute

Join us for the Fred Long Labor Day Tribute, a special program honoring the life and legacy of E. Fred Long, an Edwardsville coal miner who lost his life during the 1898 Battle of Virden.
Through music, storytelling, and historical reflection, this commemorative event explores the sacrifices of working families and the enduring impact of the U.S. labor movement.
Free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
Voices of Our Past 2026: Leaving Their Mark

Step into Edwardsville’s history during Voices of Our Past 2026: Leaving Their Mark, Woodlawn Cemetery’s annual living history fundraiser.
Guided by Woodlawn docents, guests will enjoy an hour-long walking tour featuring graveside reenactments performed by members of Alumni Players!
Tours begin at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Please select your preferred tour time when registering and plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled tour.
Tickets: $20 for adults | $10 for children ages 12 and under
